Roscommon County Food Pantry

The Roscommon County Food Pantry brings a harvest of food and hope to our neighbors.
We are a volunteer, non-profit organization. Every dollar, item of food, or volunteer hour donated to the Roscommon County Food Pantry directly assists the residents of Roscommon County.

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU

The Roscommon County Food Pantry was founded with the mission of assuring that all of our residents of Roscommon Country never go hungry!

The decision to visit a food pantry is often a difficult choice for our neighbors. Between the stigma surrounding pantries and common misconceptions about how the system works, many people do not seek the assistance they need.

The Roscommon County Food Pantry sets its own eligibility guidelines. Eligibility is based on self-attested need. You do not need to have a referral, and income is not a factor to receive food. You will be asked to provide a form of identification and/or proof of your address for each member of the family. Proof of identification can include a drivers license, a school report card, Medicaid information, a Social Security card or birth certificate.

You do not need to qualify for or be receiving other assistance in order to visit the Food Pantry. Roscommon County individual residents and families are eligible to receive food assistance from the Roscommon County Food Pantry once a month. In addition to picking up food monthly, residents are eligible to receive food from monthly food trucks.

Those who come to the pantry for food will receive a pre-assembled box of food that can include canned goods, meat, bakery goods, fresh produce when available, cereal and other shelf-stable products. These food boxes are meant to be a supplement to your regular income or food stamps.

The Roscommon County Food Pantry does not share who comes to visit, and there is no overall count of the number of agencies any one neighbor might have used in a given month.
